Judah and Danica just got back from Burning Man. Part of their re-entry into normal life ? sigh? was picking up newspapers and chewing on what they had missed that last week. Most Burners left the world for a solid week, before the knowledge of Katrina. Needless to say, re-adjustment this time around is a bit more stark.
They made sure to rush over to our house, with Monday’s newspaper clutched in hand? “Doonesbury is making fun of you!” They both exclaimed upon entering. “No really, he’s specifically making fun of you!” they emphasize as the paper gets shoved in my hands. Such are the pleasures of being the only culinary blog in Eugene.
I am flattered and very entertained. But of course I can’t take the credit? because I know he’s really making fun of all of you.
